I have been thinking about this heartbreak, any heartbreak. It doesn’t have to be like that. This experience, as any other, has a teachable moment enclosed just like each Cracker Jack box has a prize. Looking for the prize, finding the prize and opening the prize, the actual anticipation of it all, could outdo the prize itself. Making the prize a prize is in the eye of the beholder.
This time around, the heartbreak came with a big prize. It could be a rude awakening or a spiritual awakening. I prefer the awakening of the spiritual kind. In this spiritual journey, I have taken many a good look in the mirror. I appreciate what I see, the longer I stay on this path. It’s like any sort of travel, you learn so much from your experience. I think when we go on a trip, we simply pay more attention to the details and look for what we love. I is vitally important to learn how to enjoy what is right here, right now, right in front of yourself.
I have been practicing mindfulness now for several years. The one thing that I am reminded of over and over again is accepting things as they are and resisting the tendency to want things to be different than what they are. I suppose that wanting things to be different than what they are is a common error in thinking…perhaps more common in this American culture. Like the motto…”Make America Great Again. Right? What’s not so great about it? There are a lot of great things from where I sit. It ain’t perfect. I know. But it doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.
Go find wonderful today! It is a beautiful world.
Peace and love,
